 Plant of the Month

DECEMBER – The tiny pinkish-purplish florets of Olearia myrsinoides (Silky Daisy-bush) surrounded by 3 white ray florets.

Lobelia gibbosa (Tall Lobelia)

NOVEMBER – Lobelia gibbosa (Tall Lobelia), a rarely seen plant with deep blue flowers. Appears for a few weeks every year off Alamein Track.

 

Daviesia ulicifolia ssp. ulicifolia, commonly known as the Gorse Bitter-pea.

OCTOBER – Daviesia ulicifolia ssp. ulicifolia, commonly known as the Gorse Bitter-pea. In spring, Gorse Bitter-pea flowers can brighten up an entire hillside area above Tobruk Avenue.
